The ski resort of Sol y Nieve is located in the Sierra Nevada mountain range near Granada, just 2 hours drive from Miraflores, and is the most southerly ski resort in Europe. Being so far south, many skiers are pleasantly surprised to find that the air temperature is usually warmer than other resorts. To supplement the natural snow, snow cannons are often used, enabling the resort to stay open. The season is December to April.

The Sierra Nevada ski resort has numerous runs of varying difficulties to satisfy all skiing desires and there are also large areas for snow boarding. You will also be able to take a 'sled-ride' pulled by Huskies or skate on the ice rink.
